"Love" rules, but I'm glad they ditched the original "Electric" recordings with Steve Brown (I think the album was going to be called "Peace") and went with Rubin for the stripped-down raw crunch. The "Love" treatment on tunes like "Wildflower" just don't cut it.
BTW, anybody heard the new Cult single (Dirty Little Rockstar)?

Tell a 18 year old kid today about Midnight Oil and they wonder if you are discussing Dick Cheney's most current Iraqi Surge plan. Ask them about GN'R, and they will tell you how they love blasting Mr. Brownstone at their party!\
The hell they are! Stop the mad chattering you batty twat! How old are you and when was the last time you went to a kegger in Flyoverland?
The kids in America listen to Zep, Floyd, Sabbath, and Tom Petty when they play "classic rock". Not GnR. Why settle for a clone when you can go to the source? Just listen to Classic Rock radio in places like Red Wing Minnesota, or Bark River, MI. No GnR. Plenty of the 70's. It's as if the 80's LA Scene never happened.
The current GnR fanbase is rokker dudes verging on 40-ish, not the youth of this country.

I'm pretty sure that a majority of the GNR fans are guys for whom the calendar still reads 1989.
Sure, we can all appreciate that Appetite was a great record and captured the lightning strike that was the original GNR, a trainwreck waiting to happen...granted, a magical trainwreck.
Those still hanging on, spouting such nonsense as "this is the best GNR line-up ever" and whatnot, disrespect the very band they adore and give way too much credit to Sir Axl.

Ask them about GN'R, and they will tell you how they love blasting Mr. Brownstone at their party! Gordon is off his meds again! None of the 18 year olds I know give a flying fuck about GNR, you deluded fanboy. One did ask me to borrow my Beach Boys greatest hits cd's the other day though. I thought that was pretty weird, but cool! He didn't want Volume 3 even when I told him "Sail On, Sailor" is on there. Kids these days, go figure!

Axl in Australia said that the album "still isn't finished". Chinese Democracy will never see the light of day.

Sounds like some of you moved back into your plastic bubbles. First of all, Appetite is not only played daily on major Modern Rock stations, but also is now on most classic rock stations. Secondly, go to any bar, on any college campus, and typically when Sweet Child, Jungle, Browstone, etc. come on, not only is it recognized, but many sing along. The album stood the test of time and is embedded in pop culture. Moreover, your attempts to stereotype those who happen to like this album as 40'ish over the hill rockers are about as pathetic as Bush's stereotyping those who question the Iraqi war as traitors. I think some of you continue to act like it's 1988, and it's not hip to accept a band that is not Dinosaur Jr., or The Pixies--and that GN'R is just another hair band. They weren't then, and they aren't now. There is a reason they are on the cover of Rolling Stone, and that alone speaks volumes.

GN'R's greatest hits sold 500,000 to 700,000 albums last year in the U.S. as well. I think it's still #1 on Billboards catalog chart, and was in the top 100 regular album chart for 130 some odd weeks before they moved it to this catalog chart. Combining UYI's, Lies, Appetite, SI, Live Era, and GH's they moved over a 1 million units in the U.S. last year, not to mention strong sells continue overseas.

I work with a 20 year old (close enough to 18) and he is a big Guns n' Roses fan. Wears his Appetite shirt damn near every time I see him. His brothers, big rock fans and in their early to mid 20s, are big GnR fans too. So, just because the 18 year olds you know aren't into them (or at least haven't discovered them yet) doesn't mean others out there aren't.

I'm sure, I just like busting Gordon's balls because you know he has framed Axl posters in his bathroom. The first album is great, but it was downhill after that except for a couple bright spots. It's got that cowbell tune! Maybe I'll give it a spin today.
And Gordon you freak, I don't know squat about bands like Dinosaur Whoever and whatnot. Yeow!
