$200.00 for floor tickets for a shed tour? I love the Smith' but fuck those motherfuckers!! Is Hep meds costing Tyler out of pocket these days? Why are these so high? Any clues.......
They best play Rocks, Toys and Live Bootleg in their entirety.

Sounds typical for the marketplace, and the orchestra seats will sell out. They're also selling lawn tickets ranging for $25-$35.00, so it's not like they're shutting out less well-off fans.
Remember that the Stones would be charging $400-$500.00 for the equivilent seats.

I had a theory about this - do you think it's because bands want a better "class" of folks closer to the stage?
i.e. no drunks yelling for "the obvious hit" or even "Free Bird" after the first song?
Hell, maybe they're just greedy...

C'mon, She - you know how this works. Both Aerosmith and ZZ Top have legions of fans that saw them in the '70's when they were teenagers. Hell, I stood in line at Arlington Stadium for tickets back in the '70's when one-day ticket sales were the norm (pre-Ticketbastard).
I know people my age who are not regular concert patrons - maybe one show a year - that are ecstatic over this bill. To them, it's like getting an extra show for free, especially if they do a co-headlining deal and play equal-length sets. These folks will happily pay stupid money for these tickets since it's a one-time deal for them.
Aerosmith wants to get out and show they still have it, and ZZ gets a vacation from the Casino circuit - a win-win, if you will.
Am I going? No.

i remember how much fun it was to camp out the night before tickets went on sale. the best was the night before led zeppelin tickets went on sale. everybody was fucked up out of their minds in the parking lot of the coliseum. nobody slept. it was such a fun, festive atmosphere. as much fun sometimes as the concert and this was when you could still smoke dope at concerts.
not a teenager in the world has memories like that. and that folks is why we live in a post-rock era.
how 'bout a big hand for the majors, clear channel and mtv. way to go boys!

I remember seeing Aerosmith at the Nassua Coliseum, November 12th, 1978 (Mark Puma Presents...) -- My ticket was $7.50 (section 212) -- parking was $2 (didn't park tho -- mom dropped us off in her station wagon)
So combined with the $5 bag of dirty brown weed we coped earlier in the week on 212th street in Hollis, Queens, the whole night cost me less than $10.
The coliseum that night was a haze of smoke, wine flasks, and 4 pound frisbees flying around the air. It was an event. (I remember waking up ever morning weeks before the show and looking at the tickets in my drawer) They opened with Back In The Saddle and it was magic for a 13 year-old boy.
There were four of us that night. Two of them are gone now.
Inflation sucks...
