Here's proof from this clip from the UK tryouts, why Simon Cowell's vehicle is better than Idol (despite that Howard Stern would bury it additionally), and why Girls Aloud's Cheryl Cole is much needed over here...not only is her own music killer pop (solo and with Girls Aloud), but you can see why she is deemed a working class hero & inspiration to many in the UK, and that she is indeed the warmest, classiest, most gracious woman in pop, depite being also the best-looking. Simon wants Cheryl as one of the judges on the US launch, and frankly, Americans will not be able to help falling for this girl. I've loved her for years already, but once I saw this clip, I GOT it and understood the deep personal connections many Brits feel for Cheryl, and I now do as well.
You will understand...no one else I know is that warm, classy and genuine...if you can, name him/her, as I'd love to know.
PS-- Yes, Girls Aloud had a #1 single in 2004 with that cover of The Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You"...their 2nd of 4.
